Bas “Basie” Janssen

Bas “Basie” Janssen is coming from Amsterdam. Trained in classical piano, he discovered the Beatles, Pete Johnson, Creedence Clearwater and first played with the swing, jump and bluesband Texan Tail. He explored several musical genres and instruments, from Fender Rhodes to melodica. He collabored with Big Jay MacNeely, Enrico Crivellaro, Big Pete, Ray Collins Hot Club. He played on international stages such as the Moulin Blues Festival, the Paradiso (Amasterdam), the Birmingham Jazz Festival, the Rhythm Riot (UK), the Dusseldorf Jazz Festival, the Cedeira International Roots Festival (Spain), etc. He accompanied Elmore D. in almost any of his concerts from 2010, especially at the Belgian Blues Night, the Acosse Rock and Blues, the Marchin Blues Night, the Ploegsteert Blues Festival, the Duvel Blues Festival, in the Netherlands, the Blues Oan Daa Stoatzze, etc. People of the Liège area could have seen him with Elmore in 2012 at the Café Le Parc, the Pepinster Rock and Blues Festival with Henri Moureau, etc.
